Galvanized sheet tank

Hot-dip galvanized corrugated panels bolt together to carry the full water load while a replaceable food-grade PVC or TPU inner liner keeps the tank watertight — equally suited as a galvanized stock tank fish pond, galvanized tub fish pond or galvanised fish pond for tilapia, catfish and shrimp grow-out. The galvanized sheet tank ships flat and assembles on site with no concrete, in diameters from 2.4 to 30 m and volumes up to ~1,060 m³.

System composition

Steel carries the load, liner seals the water

At large diameters the bolted steel wall takes the full hydrostatic load — no bulging, no reliance on tarpaulin self-support.

Hot-dip galvanized corrosion resistance

Long outdoor service life; heavier zinc coating available for coastal and high-humidity sites.

Ships flat, assembles on site

Bolt-together panels need no concrete or excavation, and the tank can be dismantled and relocated.

Independently replaceable liner

Keep the steel frame and swap only the inner membrane — low long-term cost.

Big single-tank volume

One tank holds from tens up to ~1,000 tonnes of water, replacing multiple small tarpaulin units.

Fully customizable

Diameter, wall height, sheet gauge, galvanizing weight and liner grade made to order.

Application

  • Large-diameter commercial grow-out of tilapia, catfish and shrimp
  • Large biofloc culture tanks
  • Farm water storage, conditioning and holding ponds
  • Mid-to-large relocatable projects on rented land
  • Fast tank construction where concrete is impractical or water is scarce

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is a galvanized sheet tank built?

Hot-dip galvanized corrugated steel panels are bolted into a rigid wall that carries the full water load, while a food-grade PVC / TPU inner liner keeps it watertight — it ships flat and assembles on site without concrete or excavation.

Why choose a galvanized steel tank over tarpaulin?

The steel wall takes the hydrostatic load instead of relying on the tarpaulin to self-support, so it stays stable at large diameters; one large tank can replace many small tarpaulin units.

Can the liner be replaced separately?

Yes — the liner is replaceable independently of the steel frame, so the galvanized wall stays in use and only the inner membrane is swapped, lowering long-term cost.

What is a galvanized sheet tank used for?

It is widely used for tilapia, catfish and shrimp grow-out, biofloc and farm reservoirs, especially where a relocatable, semi-permanent large tank is preferred.

Can a galvanized steel tank be used as a fish pond?

Yes — a galvanized stock tank fish pond is a proven format for commercial tilapia, catfish and shrimp grow-out. The corrugated galvanized steel wall carries the hydrostatic load at large diameters where a tarpaulin alone would deform, and the food-grade PVC or TPU inner liner isolates the fish from the steel. SIGMA's galvanised fish pond tanks ship flat and assemble on site without concrete, from ~5 m³ (Ø 2.4 m) up to ~1,060 m³ (Ø 30 m). A galvanized tub fish pond at Ø 3.6–5 m is a common entry-scale choice for biofloc or RAS nursery work.

Can a galvanized water trough be used as a fish pond?

Yes — a galvanized water trough fish pond is essentially a smaller version of our galvanized sheet tank, built the same way: bolted galvanized panels with a food-grade liner. For small-scale or backyard fish keeping, a trough-sized tank (Ø2.4–3.6 m) is the practical entry point; for commercial grow-out, step up to the larger-diameter models.
