Bag Filter

Fine sediment removal that flushes itself — a self-cleaning bag filter that polishes water by trapping fine sediment and suspended solids inside a selectable 1–200 µm filter bag, then automatically backwashes the accumulated solids to drain on a differential-pressure or timer trigger, so it runs far longer between bag changes and cuts manual labour.

System composition

Self-cleaning, fewer bag changes

Automatic backwash and sludge discharge on differential pressure or timer extends bag life and keeps the line running unattended.

Selectable precision, 1–200 µm

One housing covers coarse pre-filtration to fine polishing — just change the bag.

Low-cost entry to fine filtration

An economical choice for side-stream or point-of-use polishing where a full drum or sand filter would be overkill.

Corrosion-resistant housing

316L stainless or PP bodies suit fresh and salt water.

Compact footprint

Drops onto a makeup-water line, ahead of a UV sterilizer, or onto a single tank.

Standard consumables

Industry-standard #1/#2 bag sizes are easy to source worldwide; replacing a bag takes minutes.

Application

  • Side-stream and point-of-use polishing in RAS — makeup-water lines, ahead of UV, single-tank clean-up
  • Sea- and freshwater intake fine filtration
  • High-purity water polishing for hatcheries and nurseries
  • Koi-pond and aquarium polishing alongside sand or drum filtration

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does a bag filter remove?

It polishes water by trapping fine sediment and suspended solids inside a filter bag, with a selectable micron rating typically 1–200 µm.

How does the self-cleaning bag filter reduce labour?

An automatic backwash / sludge-discharge cycle, triggered by differential pressure or a timer, flushes the trapped solids to drain so the unit keeps running and bags last much longer between swaps.

Where is a bag filter used in a RAS?

It is ideal as a point-of-use polishing or side-stream filter — on a makeup-water line, ahead of a UV sterilizer, or to clear up a specific tank — where a full drum or sand filter would be overkill.

Can one bag filter handle different fineness?

Yes — the bag micron rating is selectable (typically 1–200 µm), so the same housing can do coarse pre-filtration or fine polishing simply by changing the bag.
